    I have wondered aloud, and at times loudly why folks will go out of town for the same thing they can have right at their doorstep.
     There are a great many places on the internet where you can place your photos and snap shots where only YOU will see them. You know the places I'm talking about.
     GetCalhoun.com offers you a GREAT place to put your favorite snaps where they will be seen and appreciated by folks who are not only looking for them, but will be able to find them. It is a fact that our photo galleries are surfed a LOT by local folks, and folks from far away. Oft times, folks who used to live here come to GetCalhoun.com to enjoy pictures of home.

Here's how it works here:

• Before you send your photos query us to let us know you're coming. Tell us what you have in mind.
   
• Keeping in mind that the gallery sites take anything you want to send, GetCalhoun.com is interested only in your best!
   
• Since GetCalhoun.com is regional, we accept photos that have something to do with Calhoun County Alabama, and the counties that surround it. Your photo must have been snapped locally.
   
• Original content only, naturally. Something you took or own.
   
• Any time period. It can be a photo from last hour or 200 years ago. You know we're history nuts here at GC, so interesting old photos are always welcome. You have a shoebox full of history in the closet and a scanner. Right? Choose your favorites and show them to us. So you have a photo of Great Uncle Bob standing in front of a saloon? We'd like to see the saloon!
   
• We're easy dogs to run with. If you like your picture, chances are we will too.
   
• One photo or several? If you have one good photo, we may place it on the front page of GC for a few days. If you have several, we may make a photo gallery. It's just that simple!
   
• Size matters at GetCalhoun.com. We prefer a width of 400 pixels at 72dpi. Bigger is better than smaller. But don't let this stop you. We will resize if necessary. Just let us know what's coming. That's all we ask.
   
• Photos are submitted the old fashioned way...by email. That's why we need to know what's coming.
