The 8th Annual Special Kids Fishing Classic |
The 8th Annual Special Kids Fishing Classic will be held
Tuesday, May 11 at Swafford's Pond in the Wellborn Community.
Some 114 students form prevocational classes at
Alexandria High School, Anniston High School, Constantine Elementary
School, Cleburne County High School, Jacksonville High School, Oxford
High School, Piedmont High School, Weaver Elementary School and
Wellborn High School are scheduled to take part in the event, which
begins at 10:00 a.m.
This invitational fishing tournament is sponsored by
the Calhoun County Commission, The Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie
4295, Calhoun County 911, Solutia Inc., The Alabama Department of
Conservation, The Arc of Calhoun and Cleburne Counties, RSVP and
numerous other groups and businesses which lend their support.

All area business leaders are invited to attend the free Disability
Employment Job Forum
offered by the Greater Calhoun County Governor's Committee on the
Employment of People with Disabilities, May 25 at the Anniston City
Meeting Center.
Seminars will be offered on The Americans with
Disabilities Act (ADA) and tax incentive for hiring people with
disabilities. Audience members will also benefit from a roundtable
discussion with employers who have hired people with disabilities.
The forum gets underway at 9:00 a.m. in Room "A" of the
City Meeting Center, 1615 Noble Street, Anniston. For more
