Traditional Christmas Music
on GetCalhoun.com
With only a couple of exceptions*,
all the music below was heard exactly...once. It
comes from live radio shows. Your parents or grandparents, or maybe
even great
grandparents may have heard some of these songs before going about
their
Christmas business long long ago. The shows on which this music was
heard were
saved to a record, and then put up and forgotten until being
rescued by forward
thinking collectors. The audio was transferred to reel to reel tape,
and then perhaps
to cassette, and finally to digital format so that it would play on
computers. Most come
from the 40's and 50's, the period when Christmas was the best ever,
and nobody had ever
heard of "winter lights", "winter music", and God and Jesus weren't
banned.
