Georgia murder suspect apprehended in Anniston

A Georgia man, wanted in the shooting death of his estranged wife, was arrested overnight in Anniston.  Floyd County Georgia police arrested Theron Ramon Plummer about 9:30 p.m. in connection with the Sunday  killing of 39 year old Kimberly L. Ware in Rome. According to a release issued Wednesday night by Floyd County police: Through the combined efforts of the Floyd County Police Department, Georgia Department of Corrections Fugitive Squad, U.S. Marshals and Alabama authorities, Plummer was tracked to the Anniston area and taken into custody. Extradition proceedings will begin this morning, and Plummer will be returned to Floyd County, where additional charges will be added. Plummer reportedly shot Kimberly Ware at the 34 Woodland St. residence where she had moved in with relatives to get away from her husband. The two were separated and in the process of getting a divorce. Authorities said Plummer was seen Sunday driving an early 1990s model silver Cadillac, and Floyd County police initiated a multi-state manhunt for him. Authorities said while there were reports he was still in Northwest Georgia, they had contacted law enforcement officials in neighboring states in an attempt to locate their suspect.
