Missing Lincoln Teen Family Asks For Help
family of a 17 year old Lincoln teen is asking for the public's help
in locating their son. 17 year old Ben Stanford was last seen
driving a 2007 silver Jeep Grand Cherokee Monday as the purchased
gas in Lincoln. The vehicle was found abandoned today in Villa Rica,
Georgia with no sign of the teen. Ben is a student at Donoho School
and has brown hair and green eyes, weighing 140 lbs. Anyone with
information on his whereabouts is asked to call the family at
256-761-7530 or your local police department.
Volunteer firemen severely beaten
A Calhoun County Volunteer Fireman, Dean
Richardson, remains in guarded condition after suffering a serious
beating over the weekend. According to Calhoun County Chief Deputy
Matthew Wade, the fireman was able to call for help on his county

Arrests made in Gadsden murder
Gadsden Police have arrested three teens
Tuesday afternoon in connection with the shooting death of a
62-year-old employee of a Gadsden coin laundry business.
Police say that Janice King was working at H&H Laundry and Coin on
Kyle Avenue, just off 12th Street, when she was shot about 6 p.m.,
Sunday night. Police arrested 17 year old Decantie Luster, 16 year
old Dominique Frazer and 16 year old Abraiez Robinson, charging all
three with capitol murder.
Work progressing for hiway widening
A state highway project to four lane highway 21
between Munford and Talladega is making progress as the Alabama
Department of Transportation has begun demolition of empty
businesses and houses along the proposed route. Businesses were
required by the state some time ago to relocate to make room for the
highway. Transportation Department officials say they are currently
acquiring right of way for the project and after all the land is
acquired, they will get ready for the construction phase of the
project. Officials said the construction phase isn’t scheduled to
begin until 2012. But once the construction is started, it will take
between 18 and 24 months to complete.
Freezing temps on the way
The first cold snap of the season will arrive
tonight and early Wednesday, bringing below-freezing temperatures to
Forecasters with the National Weather Service in Birmingham and
Huntsville said north Alabama should experience freezing
temperatures. Wednesday night and Thursday morning, temperatures
should be close to freezing before warming up on Thursday and
Meteorologists with the national weather service in Birmingham,
said temperatures will drop to 31 or 32 degrees tonight and
