Water should be your beverage of choice when you have gout. Drinking at least 10 8 ounce glasses each day. Drinking water that has an alkaline level of 7 or above is best for a person with gout. You should also watch the amount of meat you consume each day. It is just as important that you keep an eye on the fat you consume daily as well. For optimal health you should not only follow the recommended diet but also begin a regular exercise routine.



Even though the list of foods you should avoid is a bit lengthy it is important that you stay away from the list of foods that cause gout. It might be a good idea to make a copy of the list and keep it in your wallet to refer back to when you are at the grocery store.
